Transportation         Highways   An asset of the Greensville County area is its excellent network of interstate and primary highways: Interstate 95, the north-south corridor for the east coast, passes through the area, and is accessible through six interchanges US Route 301 runs parallel to I-95 and passes through the City of Emporia US Route 58 -- a major four-lane, east-west corridor -- intersects I-95 in Emporia. Railroad Services Freight service is provided to the Emporia-Greensville area by two railroads: CSX runs north-south and is closely aligned with US Route 301; Norfolk Southern Corporation runs east west.
